After being in the Midwest for a long eleven month hiatus, I’m finally returning to the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week — with only weeks away — and looming just around the corner.
Elated to see all the designers, shows, presentations — and fellow fashionistas. With a city that never sleeps, comes the bright lights, runway shows, and not to mention: those exclusive, late night soirees. Rubbing elbows with fashion’s elite, dancing with supermodels, and mingling with celebrities.
So, without any further ado, here are some of my favorite trends for the Spring/Summer season…
We’re seeing a lot of oversized safari trench coats, awkward-chic geometrics, silk bomber jackets with a far eastern vibe. The return of animal print is apparent…
There’s plenty of androgyny; gender bending pushes boundaries, bringing a soft edge to the looks, without losing that rough masculinity. Form – structure – function, always present, rest in a bed of white roses.

This season’s color palette is multidimensional. We’re seeing clusters of color influences this season — we have naturals and neutrals in one sphere, accents of iridescent sheen and metallics in another; pops of neon create a brilliant chaos.
