On Saturday evening, I had the opportunity to attend Katya Leonovich’s Spring/Summer 2015 Runway Show at Chelsea Pier 59 Studios. The show was full of ethereal, whimsical linen pieces. Some numbers were on the cheeky side, with models’ bare breasts on display through sheer fabrics, while others were more modest. The transparent designs make them perfect for layering (or being worn by themselves, for the bold among us). The collection also shows a nice range in color and texture. Leonovich has an excellent eye for unifying the unexpected.
My favorite piece of the night was a gunmetal metallic babydoll dress with 3D. I wanted to wear the dress home.
This is my first New York Fashion Week and it’s off to a brilliant start!
