Many of my favorite Spring fashion trends of all time have been “borrowed from the boys”. As a lover of boyfriend jeans, over-sized blazers and oxford loafers; will always keep me interested what’s trending in men’s fashion. Spring trends are known for blending classic style with some modern edgy elements — and the trends of this season leave no exception behind.
One of the most notable current trends in men’s fashion today is “athleisure” also known as a socially acceptable reason to wear sweats! The idea is to mix very casual pieces (sweatpants, hoodies, sneakers) with dressier items to create an effortlessly “cool” look. Athleisure has been seen throughout Hollywood, with everyone from Kanye West to Ryan Lochte — and Justin Beiber to name a few. Examples of athleisure include pairing fitted sweats with edgy leather jackets, or wearing bright basketball sneakers with dressier trousers and jacket.
Spring also brings about new takes on classic styles. The Blazer, perhaps the most iconic piece of menswear clothing, is getting a makeover. What used to be a heavily lined, thick piece is no longer. Unlined blazers have a tighter, more tailored fit to them and are much more lightweight than the traditional blazer, making them a perfect piece for spring.
When discussing men’s trends, we can’t neglect the shoes. Shoes are an integral part of every guy’s wardrobe and play a key role in creating a unique aesthetic. The classic high-top sneaker remains the most popular style around, with variations that meet anyone’s personal taste. For the more casual man, basketball shoes offer both comfort and style and can be found in spring’s brightest and most in trend shades. More over Louboutin makes high top sneakers now. Sandals are also making a comeback. Notably featured on this season’s Fendi runway, these shoes serve as the perfect accessory for warmer days.
