As the day advanced after another fine Sunday brunch, I became progressively more enchanted by an unmistakable, building sensation – yes, the first snowfall of the season has graced New York City. The sky fills with delicate flakes of frosty white powder, the bleak late-autumn concrete jungle of Manhattan transforms into a heavenly, layered wedding cake, and another winter settles in.
Today I’m doing a flashy yet sophisticated look, featuring layers of print on print. The ornate star and tartan pattern of my oversized t-shirt contrasts with the red checks and Doberman print on my exclusive, cashmere scarf – trademarks, of course, of the House de Givenchy (HDG). The blazer adds another layer of cashmere to the ensemble, while my skinny jeans and heel boots lend a faintly alluring hint of danger. It’s a fun, elaborate, playfully hard-edged look – and I’m glad that I managed to fit it in before the first gentle Manhattan snowfall of the season.
